No Matter What

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” (Heb. 12:2)

There is no situation in life in which we should ever consider taking our eyes off Jesus.

In good times, when all is well in our world, it can be easy to get caught up in the joys and pleasures of earthly blessings.  More than a few times in my life, I have found myself being more enamored with the gifts rather than with THE Giver.  I must remember that “every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights” (James 1:17).

Conversely, when the storm clouds roll in and darkness envelops us, we must most especially keep our eyes on our Savior.  “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” (Psalm 91:1&2).  He is the Light that illumines our dark path, leading us safely to His desired destination.  I love the strong assurance of Isaiah 43:2 – “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Whatever our circumstances, let us keep our gaze fixed ~

    Not on our Joys –

   Not on our Fears –

   Not on our Struggles –

But on Jesus who is “the way, the truth and the life”.  (John 14:6)

Blessings,
